Designer Richard Rogers built the CEO to ride like a pen in a shirt pocket. The handle is slim and low-profile, so it disappears in a dress shirt, scrubs, or jeans, and it still fills the hand well for everyday cutting jobs: opening boxes and mail, cutting cord and tape, and trimming tags. A flipper tab and the IKBS ball-bearing pivot swing the blade open quickly and smoothly, and the liner lock is easy to close with one hand.
The Blackout pairs a black glass-reinforced nylon handle with a coated blade for a clean, all-black look. The AUS 8 high-carbon stainless clip-point blade takes a good edge and is easy to bring back with a few passes on a sharpener. The glass-reinforced nylon handle is tough and light, and the pocket clip can be set for left- or right-hand carry.
